Netsuke Fine Quality Edo Period Carving of a Japanese God
This unique handcrafted Netsuke from the Edo Period (1615-1868) appears to represent a Japanese god.
It is in outstanding condition albeit a little worn. It shows a great deal of detail as can be seen on the hands, face, and clothing.
The two holes pierce on the backside would allow the toggle to hang from a Sagemono by a string.
It weighs 23.7 grams and measures 2 5/8’’ approximate. It comes from a private collection.
